Personification definition
For many people there is nothing more frightening then losing their identity, and when a person tries to personify you they are doings something that in many ways is the exact same thing and equally if not more frightening because of the effect it has on your finances. When you have been a victim of personification it means that you have had another person take your identity and use it for their gain. This can mean that you had someone use a credit card that belonged to you or even that another person got a credit card by using your identity so that it would affect your credit score and not their own. In addition, if they decided to stop having the credit card or paying for the credit card more rather then that person being in trouble for the money they spent the person who was personified would be.
There are some ways that you are able to protect yourself against this and one of the main one is continuing to check on your credit score on a regular basis so that you know if it has been effected by something that did not have to do with you or was not a result of your own actions. If you find something that was not a result of your own actions you should report it immediately so that the person who is responsible can be found.
One thing that can be helpful to making sure you are not personified is making sure that as few people as possible have your person information or any of the information that has to do with your identification. This means that you should try to keep your social security number secure and that you should only show your identification card when it is needed. One way to help keep your information secure is to make sure that your wallet is always in a safe place or on your persons sop that you are not able t have it be stolen or so that it is harder to loose. In addition, you will want to frequently check your credit cards balance and make sure that you are not being charged for transactions that you are not a part of or are not making personally.
Every time a person has to deal with identity theft it is able to effect their credit score but is also able to effect their life if they have to pay the money that another person spent in their name. This can cause a person to financially suffer and even in some cases lose some of what they already had because of a debt that they did not make for themselves. Protecting yourself against this happening to you can be a big part of staying safe and making sure your family and finances are also safe.
